Providing Flexible Implementation Options For Your Schools
Acuity includes flexible options to match your school or district infrastructure and the needs and capabilities of your students. Whether you administer assessments using paper and pencil, online, student response devices, or a combination of methods, Acuity is quickly and easily implemented.
Paper and pencil
Acuity is designed to mold into the workflow of your classrooms—saving you time and helping you teach appropriate content targeted to individual student needs. Implementation, training, and support are available online or at your location to quickly get you started improving student achievement.
Acuity supports both Optical Mark Read (OMR) and image-based scanning. Separate software applications for using OMR and image-based scanners with Acuity are provided to Acuity customers at no extra charge. These applications turn data collected from bubble sheets into data that can be read and displayed in Acuity reports. If you are using image-based scanners, downloadable answer sheets are available directly from Acuity. Answer sheets used with OMR scanners are available for purchase from CTB.
With the paper-and-pencil test administration, Acuity reports are available within hours after scanning results into Acuity. Or, if you prefer, CTB offers scanning and scoring services for an additional price.
Once your assessments are scanned and scored, you receive all the benefits of the online system: helpful Acuity Reports and Instructional Resources aligned to your state standards.
Online
As an online solution, all Acuity assessments can be administered via the Web—in the school or at home. Assessment completed online are typically available as student and classroom reports within minutes.
School and district level reports are available the next day to help you quickly make informed decisions about curriculum and instruction.
Online administration benefits from Acuity's unique system architecture that includes a content server in your district – ensuring the fastest, most reliable performance.
Student response devices (clickers)
Acuity helps you immediately impact student achievement with a comprehensive assessment system for formative and interim assessments that seamlessly integrates Student Response Devices, or "Clickers".
Acuity UnWired™ and clickers, from Qwizdom™ and eInstruction™, give you the benefits of quick and easy assessment without the need for student-computer interaction. Students use a paper test booklet, and enter their responses via the clicker. For more formative uses, educators can project test questions on a screen for classroom paced responses. Results are available in real-time for immediate teacher analysis, and sent to Acuity upon completion for online reporting
Acuity clickers help you provide highly targeted, personalized instruction with award-winning clicker technology that helps your teachers:
- View real-time results to make critical instructional decisions faster than ever
- Generate standards-aligned Acuity reports within minutes that can be shared at the class, school, district, or multi-district levels as needed
- Eliminate the need to print, barcode, distribute, collect, and scan answer sheets
- Deliver assessments with minimal preparation and no computer lab time required
- Engage students in the assessment process with inspiring and motivating technology
Any combination
Acuity assessments can be implemented with a combination of the above methods.
Assessments can be taken online, with paper-and-pencil, or with student response devices (clickers) and data from all three are aggregated into Acuity for a single set of reports. Once response information is in the system, you can view the same type of reports for all three methods or data can be aggregated across classes or schools regardless of test delivery method.
A server at your location enables high availability, speed, and top-level security without interfering or obstructing your network. |
